Innovation in Teaching and Learning

The University of Minnesota has a strong commitment to continuous improvement in support of the highest quality teaching and learning across the curriculum via multiple delivery modes: classroom, blended, and online. We define innovation broadly to include the implementation of small pedagogical changes based on evidenced-based teaching practices, systematic course design that can improve student learning and engagement, the appropriate use of academic technologies, and the support of multiple educational delivery methods. We seek to create an environment at the University that supports pedagogical and curricular exploration, fosters risk-taking associated with innovation, and promotes the sharing of new practices among colleagues. Our objective is to foster broad professional development at all levels. The University is pursuing this strategy through a strong collaborative approach providing faculty and staff with an integrated set of services under the banner of Teaching [email protected].
