National Search, Executive Vice President & Provost

The University of Minnesota has announced plans to launch a national search for its next executive vice president and provost and chief academic officer.

A search committee will be convened in April 2019 by President-designate Joan T.A. Gabel. The committee will be co-chaired by Christopher Cramer, vice president for research and professor, College of Science and Engineering; and Amy Pittenger, Faculty Consultative Committee chair and associate professor, College of Pharmacy.

A position profile is expected to be posted in late spring, following the appointment of the search committee to inform the profile and to advance a robust and inclusive search process. The schedule anticipates recruitment of candidates to take place during summer 2019, with the aim of identifying finalists for public interviews to take place in fall 2019. The global search firm of Korn Ferry has been engaged to assist the search committee with sourcing and recruiting a diverse, highly qualified pool of academic leaders for this critical University of Minnesota position.
