An update on the Office of Institutional Analysis
Dear colleagues,
We are writing to share that the Office of Institutional Analysis will move from University Finance to the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost, effective July 1, 2026.
Institutional Analysis plays a critical role in supporting the University through trusted data, analytics, reporting, survey services, data governance and enterprise information resources — work that supports the University’s mission and strategic priorities at every level of the institution.
The Office of Institutional Analysis includes the following teams:
- Enterprise Constituent Relationship Management
- Enterprise Data Management and Reporting
- MyU Portal
- University Data and Institutional Reporting
- University Survey and Assessment Services
Bringing these teams into the provost's office better aligns the University with the organizational structure used by most Big Ten and AAU institutions, where these functions are commonly housed within the academic leadership organization. The transition also creates opportunities to further strengthen coordination across institutional planning, assessment, reporting and data-informed decision-making efforts.
This transition is an organizational reporting line change only — their services, staff and priorities remain unchanged, and they will continue to partner closely with units across the institution.
We are grateful for the strong foundation Institutional Analysis established during its 13 years within the Executive Vice President for Finance and Operations organization, and look forward to continued collaboration and service.
Campus partners should continue working with Institutional Analysis exactly as they do today. We are working closely with Assistant Vice President Lincoln Kallsen and his leadership team to ensure a smooth transition and ongoing communication as the transition progresses.
Sincerely,
Gretchen Ritter
Executive Vice President and Provost
Gregg Goldman
Executive Vice President for Finance and Operations
