Announcing the associate vice provost for enrollment management
Dear colleagues,
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Katie Condon-Martin as associate vice provost for enrollment management, effective December 7, 2026.
An accomplished higher education leader and national expert in enrollment strategy, Condon-Martin is recognized for her student-centered approach and collaborative leadership style. Currently serving as vice president of enrollment management at Eastern Michigan University, she oversees comprehensive enrollment operations, managing an operating budget exceeding $7 million and over $34 million in institutional scholarships. She also spent nearly a decade in enrollment leadership at West Virginia University, giving her a solid foundation in the land-grant mission, high-quality student journeys, and experience serving rural, suburban and urban communities alike.
Katie directed Eastern Michigan’s inaugural strategic enrollment management plan, driving a 10% increase in transfer enrollment and a 16% increase in graduate enrollment in a single year. She expanded access through direct-admission high school pathways and workforce partnerships with organizations like Henry Ford Health, Corewell Health, General Motors, Ford and Amazon. Additionally, she helped modernize their tech infrastructure and redesigned financial aid strategies to maximize state aid, saving $1.3 million for high-need students.
At the center of Katie’s work is her core philosophy that recruitment, retention and advancement are everyone’s job. She is dedicated to developing high-performing teams, building authentic partnerships and creating transparent alignment from institutional goals to the student experience.
Enrollment strategy is vital to achieving our ambitious Elevate Extraordinary 2030 commitments to student access, student success, community impact and long-term sustainability. Serving as the chief enrollment officer for the Twin Cities campus, Katie will provide strategic direction and operational leadership for undergraduate recruitment, admissions, the four-year scholarship program, transfer enrollment and financial aid, while helping advance a coordinated approach to graduate and professional enrollment.
Katie will operate in close partnership with Vice President Jack Miner, who serves as the university-wide enrollment strategist. Working side-by-side, they will advance an integrated vision that honors the distinct mission, identity, and market of the Twin Cities campus while helping foster a unified One University approach across all five campuses.
Condon-Martin has earned meaningful respect across the national enrollment management community and is a considerable asset at this pivotal moment for the Twin Cities campus. Please join me in welcoming Katie to the University of Minnesota.
My sincere gratitude goes to Becky Valentine for her thoughtful stewardship of our enrollment agenda during this transition, to Vice Provost Beth Lewis for serving as search committee chair, and to the entire committee for their dedicated efforts throughout this national search.
Sincerely,
Gretchen Ritter
Executive Vice President and Provost
