Online Learning Expectations for Students

Dear Colleagues,

Given your critical work in carrying out the educational mission of the University, we wanted to share with you a communication that was emailed to students earlier this week.

In the email, students were reminded of the University’s expectations for online learning and resources to support their learning. The email underscored that expectations for student participation and conduct are the same as if students were taking the class in person.

Faculty, staff and students have done extensive work over the last years to strengthen our community so that we are able to most effectively carry out our educational mission. Thank you for your partnership in those efforts.

If either of us or additional resources from the Office for Community Standards can be helpful to you in promoting respectful and productive relationships with students, please don't hesitate to reach out. You--our faculty--are at the heart of our university. Thank you for your expertise and your partnership in this challenging time.

Sincerely

Rebecca Ropers
Vice Provost for Faculty and Academic Affairs
