Update on S/N Grading

Dear Students,

Due to the impact of COVID-19, all University of Minnesota Twin Cities undergraduate students have the option to change grade basis for undergraduate courses to S/N (satisfactory/not satisfactory) for any number of spring 2020 and/or B-term (second half of term) courses.

An FAQ has been developed to answer the questions we have received regarding this change. For more information, review the Twin Cities S/N grading basis FAQ.

Please carefully consider your option to change to S/N and consult with your academic advisor. If you choose to change your grade basis, you will need to log into MyU and adjust the grade basis manually starting Wednesday, April 1Step-by-step instructions are available on the One Stop Student Services website.

The deadline for you to change your grade basis for any course is Thursday, April 30. Grade base changes will not be allowed after the deadline and decisions will be considered final.

The last day to cancel classes without college approval has moved to Friday, May 1 for full semester and second 7-week session classes. If you choose to cancel a class, you will receive a ‘W’ on your transcript.

Please communicate with your academic advisor if you have questions.

Sincerely,

Robert B. McMaster
Vice Provost and Dean of Undergraduate Education
